Professional Experience

Director of Peabody Library / Director of Liaison & Instruction Services, Vanderbilt University (2015-Present)

  • Manage operation of the Peabody Library and serve as primary University Library contact for faculty, staff, and students on the Peabody campus (depts include Human & Organizational Development; Leadership, Policy, & Organizations; Psychology & Human Development; Special Education; and Teaching & Learning).
  • Provide leadership in the development and implementation of Vanderbilt University Libraries liaison program, especially in the areas of Teaching & Learning; Campus Engagement; and Research and Reference Services.
  • Plan, develop, and implement innovative programs for instruction and learning for faculty and students across the university, including use of educational technologies in library instruction, assessment of student learning, and supporting student research through embedded librarianship initiatives.
  • Mentor liaison librarians in the development of an entrepreneurial model for interaction with faculty and students in support of learning objectives across the university.
  • Participate in aligning library services and programs to the University Strategic Plan.

Coordinator of Library Instruction & Assistant Professor, Wichita State University Libraries (2012-2015)

  • Coordinated the University Libraries Instruction Program, including instructional design, assessment of student learning, integration of information literacy into the university curriculum, and providing     training and support on instructional technologies for faculty librarians

  • Worked with faculty members and instructors to design research assignments and integrate information literacy, digital literacy, and critical thinking into their courses

  • Promoted and marketed the University Libraries Instruction Program

  • Lead assessment efforts for the Instruction Program, including the development of a rubric for assessing student learning and research in English Composition II
